June 2014

Mr. Chung gives a speech at the City Club in Los Angeles about how disabilities access laws affect both brick and mortar stores and virtual spaces.  The speech gave an overview of Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Unruh Act and the Disabled Persons Act.  It also discussed new developments in both federal and state law that may impact business websites.

Mr. Chung was appointed as a member of the Business Litigation Committee of the California State Bar Business Law Section.

March 2014

On March 20th, 2014, the Los Angeles Daily Journal published Mr. Chung’s article entitled, “Websites May Be New Disability Access Target.”  The article discusses the likelihood that an expansion of the Disabled Persons Act (DPA) will require businesses to ensure that their websites and other video technology comply with disability access laws.

November 2013

Mr. Chung gives a speech to the Wilshire Bar Association entitled, “Legal Updates Affecting Commercial Properties in California,” in which he discusses new statues impacting inspections for commercial leases, and the prospect that business websites may need to be designed to limit liability for disability access violations.

September 2013

Mr. Chung gives a speech to the San Gabriel Valley Bar Association entitled, “Legal Updates Affecting Commercial Properties in California,” in which he discusses a California Supreme Court case that may require retailers to install defibrillators, new statues impacting inspections for commercial leases, and developments in disability access litigation.

May 2013

Mr. Chung is quoted in the Korea Daily newspaper about the new disability access disclosure requirements for commercial landlords and tenants that will come into effect in July 2013.

The Law Office of Michael Chung moves into its new expanded location at the Metroplex Wilshire at 3530 Wilshire Boulevard, Suite 1610, Los Angeles, CA 90010.

April 2013

Mr. Chung gives a speech at the City Club in Los Angeles about three essential things business owners need to know about avoiding and winning business disputes in Los Angeles. The speech detailed the roles attorneys can play in dispute avoidance, information gathering and asset preservation.

Mr. Chung is quoted in the Korea Daily newspaper about the upcoming closures of ten courthouses in Los Angeles and the impact the closure of Los Angeles Superior Courts will have on business owners who are involved in business disputes.
